An agile development method was used in the concept definition process. Followed by a waterfall approach in the system realisation phase
The project's prototype enhances an existing inkjet food printer called EVEBOT printpen, to solve the limitations of the EVEBOT being not able to print on curved surfaces without touching the surface.
Domain: Cake
Objective of system: To print at the curved sides of a cream cake
Before coming up with this system, a few problem statements and systems were conceptualised first, based on the project's specification.
However those systems are not created due to factors such as:
An initial CAD (Computer Aided Design) was modelled our tin SolidWorks. A prototype was quickly produced using a 3D printer to test feasibility of the system.
After testing the initial prototype, a more refined version is prototype was produced using a 3D printer and a laser cutting machine.
A few more iterations were made based on users and stakeholder's feedback to produce the final prototype as the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for this project
