Binder Jetting 3D Printer

Through our domain analysis of 3D printing technology and initial system analysis of the EVEBOT print pen. We found that one possible enhancement we could make was to turn the EVEBOT print pen from a 2D printer to a 3D printer. 

The image shows the initial conceptual sketch of the binder jetting system. 

To test the feasibility of the binder jetting idea, the team did a functional test of the EVEBOT print pen, and found several issues that will affect the feasibility of creating the binding jetting printer.

EVEBOT issue: 

• Print accuracy - we found that the EVEBOT print pen does not always print at the same spot. (image 1)

With this issue, the whole system is not feasible as it won't be able to print any 3D object other than a blob. (image 2)
